The inspiration behind this training is the Ayurvedic ideal of Swastha — to be established in the Self, living in harmony with your nature and the world around you.
Ayurveda teaches that true health is more than the absence of illness. It is a state of inner balance, presence and alignment. Through this immersion you will learn practical tools to understand your constitution, recognize imbalance and live more closely with the rhythms of nature.
As you experience how simple and powerful these practices can be, you will also learn how to share them with others. This is where Yoga and Ayurveda meet as living therapeutic traditions.

An immersive 100-hour training
Like our Cusco course, the Cali training combines theory, practice, therapeutic applications, experiential cooking and integration time.
11 days · 100 hours
Theoretical and practical classes, cooking and hands-on therapeutic practice.
All levels welcome
No previous Ayurveda experience is required. Curiosity and willingness to practice are enough.
Study, practice & continue at home
Complete study materials, recipes, assignments, supervised practice, plus practice videos and step-by-step sequence manuals so you can review the techniques after the training.
Ayurveda Therapist Course
Study Ayurveda as a practical system for understanding constitution, restoring balance and supporting others with care.
Prakriti, vikriti & tongue reading
Recognize constitutional tendencies and current imbalance through careful observation and traditional tongue assessment.
Food, routine & daily rhythm
Create personalized recommendations for nutrition, digestion, sleep, movement and daily habits according to dosha and vikriti.
Ayurvedic detox guidance
Learn how to structure supportive 3–21 day Ayurvedic cleansing programs with appropriate food, routine and integration.
Pranayama by dosha
Use breath practices to pacify excess Vata, Pitta or Kapha and support nervous-system balance.
Meditation by constitution
Adapt meditation practices to individual tendencies, emotional states and current imbalance.
Mantra for balance
Explore mantra as a contemplative and energetic support for the mind and the three doshas.
Yoga by dosha & vikriti
Modify asana, pace, intensity and sequencing according to constitution and therapeutic intention.
Complete Abhyanga
Learn a complete one-hour full-body Ayurvedic oil-massage sequence: preparation of the space and oils, therapist body mechanics, rhythm and pressure, head and face work, limbs, abdomen, back, transitions, draping and integration. You will practice giving and receiving the sequence with supervision so the technique becomes embodied, not only memorized.
Shirodhara
Learn how to prepare the equipment and space, choose and warm the oil, establish a steady stream and rhythm, protect the eyes and hair, monitor comfort and temperature, and guide appropriate rest and aftercare. You will observe, receive and practice the complete process under supervision.
Bastis for knee, back & neck
Practice Janu Basti, Kati Basti and Greeva Basti step by step: preparation of the dough ring, placement and sealing, safe oil temperature, replenishing warm oil, client positioning, timing, cleanup and integration. We also discuss when these traditional supportive applications may or may not be appropriate.
Practice scenarios
Apply your knowledge through case studies, therapeutic recommendations and supervised practice.
Intake forms & follow-up
Use structured intake tools to understand dosha, vikriti, goals, routine and progress over time.
The Ayurveda therapist
Learn how to guide clients with presence, empathy and structure — from first meeting through personalized recommendations and follow-up.
Therapeutic environment
Explore preparation, energetic hygiene, boundaries and the therapist’s role in creating a calm and supportive space.
Learn by seeing, receiving and practicing
The therapeutic portion of the training is intentionally hands-on. Each technique is explained and demonstrated, then practiced in pairs or small groups with direct guidance.
You will learn not only the sequence itself, but also how to prepare the room, select and warm oils, position the client comfortably, use healthy therapist body mechanics, maintain appropriate draping and create a calm therapeutic atmosphere. Abhyanga includes a complete one-hour full-body sequence. Shirodhara covers setup, temperature, rhythm, safety, client comfort and aftercare. Localized Basti practice includes Janu Basti for the knee, Kati Basti for the lower back and Greeva Basti for the neck.

Continue practicing after the course
Students receive practice videos and sequence manuals for the principal hands-on techniques, giving you a clear reference for order, transitions, setup and key safety points when you continue practicing after the intensive.
Live the practice at Yogendra Ashram
At Yogendra Ashram in the mountains of Cristo Rey, the training extends beyond the classroom. Yoga, pranayama, meditation and kirtan sit alongside Ayurveda, vegetarian food, community and time to rest, connect and integrate what you are learning.
Residential tuition includes shared accommodation and vegetarian Ayurvedic meals. The daily rhythm combines study, therapies, cooking, yoga, meditation and community so Ayurveda becomes a lived experience rather than only theory.

Practice, study and integration
The rhythm may shift slightly as the group and course develop.
Experienced teachers, lived practice
The course is guided by teachers who have spent decades studying, practicing and sharing Yoga, Ayurveda and contemplative traditions in India, Peru, Colombia and internationally.

Shyam Vallabhi Devi Dasi
Shyam is an international yoga teacher and Ayurveda therapist with more than two decades of teaching experience. Her Ayurveda studies began in India, where she received certification in 2008, and continued through advanced study and mentorship in Panchakarma with Dr. Vinod. Her work integrates Ayurvedic assessment, daily routine, nutrition, therapeutic yoga, meditation, Abhyanga, Shirodhara and localized oil therapies with a practical, individualized approach to wellbeing.
She teaches Ayurveda as a living practice: first learning to observe your own constitution and patterns, then developing the skill and sensitivity to support others responsibly.

Chaitanya Nitai Das
Chaitanya is the founder and International Director of Bhakti Yoga School and has more than 35 years of dedicated yoga and spiritual practice. He brings the philosophical and contemplative foundation of the training through meditation, Bhakti Yoga, Vedic teachings and the deeper purpose of yogic living.
Together, Shyam and Chaitanya have guided students internationally for many years, creating trainings that combine traditional teachings with practical therapeutic application, personal experience and community life.
